I don’t even understand how some of those are possible. I can’t imagine my trunk hinges ever being that clean for more than 5 mins.

It’s just cleaning off all the excess grease, there is still grease in the hinge itself.

But dirty door shuts and sills really stand out and let a clean car down. Of course it leads onto the underside of the bonnet, dressing the wheel arches for pictures even though the dressing will be destroyed as soon as the car hits any level of dirt, to though dressing of plastics, to cleaning and restoring the texture of exterior window rubber seals and door seals, etc... it's a slippery slope that takes a long time to get down.
